📜 PURPOSE OF THIS PETITION
This petition is circulated by residents of the City of Port St. Lucie, Florida, to place a proposed Charter Amendment on the ballot for voter consideration.
The proposed amendment strengthens government transparency, accountability, ethics enforcement, citizen oversight, and executive responsibility, while protecting residents’ rights to participation, oversight, and fair governance.

🧾 BALLOT SUMMARY
This amendment revises the Charter of the City of Port St. Lucie to establish enhanced transparency standards, strengthen ethics and anti-retaliation protections, reinforce accountability of elected officials, create mandatory attendance requirements for the Mayor and City Council, clarify administrative authority of the City Manager, create an independent Citizen Oversight Board, reform term limits to two consecutive terms with a mandatory two-year break before seeking office again, require rescheduling of meetings when officials are absent without valid cause, and strengthen public access to financial and governmental records. The amendment also provides for initiative, referendum, recall, enforcement mechanisms, and clear definitions.

I, the undersigned, am a registered voter of the City of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and hereby petition the City to place the Government Eight Charter Amendment on the ballot for voter approval, pursuant to Section 166.031, Florida Statutes.
